Regarding the transportation support for university students, Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, said, “We cover the transportation expenses of our student friends up to 500 liras by applying to our foundations where their families live and presenting their transportation tickets.” said.
Minister Yanık answered the questions regarding the details of the transportation support that will be given to university students twice a year, announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan:
“The legislation on which all of our social assistance and social supports are based is Law No. 3294. This is a support implemented for the first time in our program. We will provide round-trip tickets twice a year to university students of social assistance beneficiary families, these will be under 25 years old and undergraduate students, and university students studying away from their families. We cover transportation expenses up to 2 liras by applying to our foundations where our student friends and their families live, and by submitting their transportation tickets.”
“500 lira one way?” On the question, Minister Yanık said, “Yes, 500 liras for each individual. In 2023, this support amount will be 750 TL. We anticipate that approximately 150 thousand university students will benefit. Payments will be made directly to the IBAN accounts of our student friends by our foundations.” shared his knowledge.
Minister Yanık said that the student can also benefit from transportation assistance on the condition that he presents his ticket on his return.
