China Railway Group's Overseas Business Increases in the First Half of the Year

China Railway Group Limited, a leading worldwide construction and engineering contractor, reported an increase in overseas business in the first half of the year.

According to a report the company submitted to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company signed new contracts worth 90,7 billion yuan (approximately US$ 79,83 billion) in overseas markets in the January-June period, up 11,79 percent from a year ago. According to the report, the value of new contracts signed domestically during the period increased by 14,1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, exceeding 1,13 trillion yuan.

The volume of new contracts in infrastructure development among the company's various businesses was the highest, rising by 13,7 percent year-on-year to approximately 1,03 trillion yuan in the first half of the year.
