Konak Municipality completed the road works on 1148 Street, located behind Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, and made it ready for use. By connecting 1140 Street and Gaziler Street, the new road, which will eliminate the ongoing traffic problem of the region for years, will revive the traffic by bypassing it. The new road, which Konak Municipality has completed, will be opened to traffic after the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's signaling work.
Konak Municipality Science Affairs Directorate teams completed the works they started to open 1140 Street to traffic behind Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, between 1148 Street and Gaziler Street. The new road, which will be a solution to the regional traffic and especially relieve the transportation to the hospital, will be put into service after the signaling work to be done by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the determination of the bus lines and stops. With the opening of 550 Street, which is 20 meters long and 1148 meters wide, to traffic, the existing 7-meter road on the hospital grounds, which is insufficient to meet the needs of the region, will also be closed for use.
500 tons of asphalt was used
Before the construction of the new road, which is about three times wider than the street used to reach the hospital, was started, correspondence was made with the relevant institutions and infrastructure works such as rainwater collection channels, natural gas and electricity were completed. Thus, the road was prevented from being dug repeatedly for infrastructure works. With the completion of the infrastructure, the teams of Konak Municipality's Directorate of Science Affairs, which accelerated their work, made 1148 Sokak ready for use in a short time. A 550-meter-long, 20-meter-high stone wall was built at the intersection of the 1140-meter-long and 160-meter-wide street with 3 Street, providing both security and an aesthetic appearance. Finally, 500 tons of asphalt produced at the Konak Municipality's construction site was poured onto the road where asphalt was laid.
The new road will be put into service after the signaling work
The new road, which Konak Municipality has completed, will be opened to traffic after the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's signaling work. Along with the new road, which will relieve the traffic by eliminating the crossings in front of the hospital, the alternative streets connected to this road will also be engaged in transportation to the hospital. Connecting the road to the hospital's car park and having suitable areas for parking on the road will be an advantage that will solve the parking problem. With the lighting systems to be located along the road, there will be no lighting problems in the region. On the other hand, taxi stands will be taken to their new places and will be made more regular for both taxi drivers and citizens who will use taxis in transportation. There will also be bus and minibus lines on the road.
