Another important step was taken in the Free Zone, which will be established in Bergama, İzmir's largest. Mayor Koştu said in his statement, "We have taken another important step in our Free Zone, which is of vital importance for our Bergama."
Pointing out that the West Anatolia Free Zone to be established in Bergama Aşağıkırıklar District, where 20 thousand people will be employed, will remove unemployment from the daily life and agenda of Bergama, Bergama Mayor Hakan Koştu said, “We have made great efforts to bring our vision projects to life from the first day we took office. We continue to show. We continue to work and negotiate with Ankara in order for the West Anatolian Free Zone, which is among these projects, to become operational as soon as possible. Today we have another good news. Our contract for the transfer of the operating rights of our Western Anatolia Free Zone to the Western Anatolia Free Zone Founder and Operator Joint Stock Company has been signed.”
Mayor Hakan Koştu drew attention to the importance of the West Anatolian Free Zone being put into operation as soon as possible for Bergama. “This project is an important vision project not only for our Bergama, Bakırçay Region and İzmir, but for our entire country. I would like to express my gratitude to our esteemed President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who closely followed every stage of it and supported us, and to my friends and colleagues, my elders and everyone who contributed to the cause.”
