As the Contemporary Life Support Association, within the scope of the lawsuit we filed at the Istanbul 10th Administrative Court for the "cancellation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) positive decision" for the Kanal Istanbul Project, a discovery was made to be the basis for the expert report to be prepared to evaluate the environmental impacts of the Kanal Istanbul Project. . During the day-long exploration, we saw once again that if this canal is built, Istanbul's life support systems such as forests, water basins, agriculture and pasture areas will be destroyed; Sazlıdere Dam, one of the important water resources of Istanbul, and Küçükçekmece Lake, a natural lake, will be destroyed. Natural habitats and ecosystem will be irreversibly degraded. With the Kanal Istanbul Project, very valuable agricultural lands will be opened to development and rent, this is the main goal!
We do not and will not accept this environmental destruction and unlawfulness!
The people of the region do not want the Kanal Istanbul Project, the people of Istanbul do not! This channel, which the people do not want, cannot be built with the taxes of the people!
