Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) continues its intense negotiation traffic with Ankara in order to resolve the demands of the business world. The delegation, which included representatives of the BTSO fuel and energy sector, visited the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) and the Ministry of Trade and conveyed the demands and expectations of the sector.

BTSO, the umbrella organization of the Bursa business world, continues to follow all requests from its more than 50 thousand members. BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay and BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur made a series of visits to Ankara for the problems of BTSO member fuel and energy sector representatives. Members of the Assembly İlhan Parseker, Erdal Aktuğ, Energy Council President and Assembly Member Erol Dağlıoğlu, 34th Professional Committee Chairman Serdar Şehmuz Karadayı and 21st Professional Committee Deputy Chairman İbrahim Karaman were also present in the BTSO delegation.

THE REQUESTS OF THE SECTOR HAVE BEEN DELIVERED TO THE MINISTRY AND EMRA

BTSO delegation visited Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak, EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz and EMRA Vice President Yılmaz Tamer. Chairman İbrahim Burkay conveyed the detailed report containing the demands of the sector and solution suggestions to Mustafa Yılmaz and Sezai Uçarmak. BTSO President İbrahim Burkay said that energy, which is the number one raw material of economic development, maintains its undisputed leadership among strategic priorities.

“WE ARE FOLLOWING THE DEMANDS OF THE BUSINESS WORLD”

İbrahim Burkay stated that with the global growth and increase in population, the need and demand for energy continues to increase day by day. Noting that they follow all the demands coming from the energy and fuel sector, President Burkay said, “We decided to organize a visit program to the Ministry of Commerce and EMRA at our meeting with our sector representatives in January with broad participation. In line with the joint decision we took, we had the opportunity to personally convey the demands of our industry by visiting Deputy Minister Sezai Uçarmak and EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz together with our delegation. We conveyed many requests and solution proposals to the Ministry of Commerce and EMRA, regarding investment incentives for renewable energy sources, reducing the recently increased costs of the fuel sector and inspections.” said.

Stating that the distance to the distribution area in fuel also affects the profits of the dealers negatively, President Burkay said, “The fact that the shipping costs are included in the total profit margin of the dealers adversely affects our dealers that are far from the distribution regions. In addition, pump sales prices in some places close to distribution regions are higher than in distant provinces such as Bursa. It was among our most important demands that the pump sales prices be determined by taking into account the distance to the distribution regions.”

“OUR TTS REQUEST CONCLUDED”

İbrahim Burkay, who stated that they received the good news that they had reset the dealer participation in automatic sales, which is among the demands of BTSO, in their meeting with EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz, said, “The decision to introduce a new regulation that will eliminate the commission amounts reflected to fuel dealers in the Vehicle Identification System (TTS). We welcomed it. While this step will reduce the price pressure in the fuel sector, it will also provide a significant improvement in the profit margins of our dealers. We would like to thank our Honorable President Mustafa Yılmaz for listening to the demands of our industry. As BTSO, we will continue our steps to solve the problems of our industry.” he said.

SHIPPING COSTS AFFECT DEALER PROFITS

BTSO Assembly Member İlhan Parseker stated that they made important visits in Ankara with the representatives of the sector and said, “During our visit to the Ministry of Commerce with the organization of our chamber, we conveyed the problems experienced regarding the audits that are closely related to our sector. During our visit to EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz, we had the opportunity to discuss different issues such as transportation and Vehicle Recognition System of the fuel sector. We really thank EMRA for the vehicle recognition system. Our industry has been waiting for this issue to be resolved for a long time. EMRA is well aware of the demands of our industry. Transportation is also an important issue in our industry. The shipping cost eliminates a significant part of the dealer's profit. The transportation costs paid by the dealers in distant regions to the filling points can bring the dealer profits to the zero point. At this point, we requested support from EMRA in solving the problems.” said.

“INCENTIVE MECHANISMS MUST BE INCREASED”

BTSO Energy Council President and Assembly Member Erol Dağlıoğlu said that they had the opportunity to consult in the Ankara program, especially in the field of renewable energy. Pointing out the importance of increasing the new incentive mechanisms for renewable energy and facilitating the bureaucratic structure in investments, Dağlıoğlu said, “We want entrepreneurs who invest in foreign currency to continue financing renewable resources in the face of increasing costs, and we want the renewable energy potential to be used efficiently in our country. At this point, an update model should be created that will ensure the continuation of the investment in RES supports. During the visit, we also conveyed our views on hybrid power plants. I would like to thank our EMRA Chairman Mustafa Yılmaz for his kind hospitality and contributions to the sector.”

“REENERGY ENERGY FUTURE OF TURKEY”

BTSO 21st Professional Committee Assembly Member Erdal Aktuğ stated that renewable energy is a very bright sector for Turkey's future and noted that they want a positive perspective in this area. Aktuğ said, “Especially solar energy investments are important in this regard. We learned from our EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz that a study was being conducted to establish power plants on the roofs of factories in OIZs. We also had the opportunity to convey our views on the establishment of solar power plants in tourism facilities.” said.

“A PRODUCTIVE VISIT PROGRAM WAS REALIZED”

BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur stated that the increases in the energy and fuel sector due to the pandemic have affected the companies financially, and said, “As BTSO, we are making efforts to resolve every request from our sectors by conveying it to the relevant ministries and institutions. Together with our energy sector representatives, we had a productive visit to EMRA and the Ministry of Commerce in Ankara. We will continue our efforts to resolve the demands from our sectors.” used the expressions.
