President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the latest situation and negotiation processes in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Emphasizing the necessity of establishing a ceasefire and peace between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible and improving the humanitarian situation in the region, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey will continue to contribute in every possible way during this process.

President Erdogan and President of Russia Putin agreed that the next meeting of the negotiation teams of Russia and Ukraine will be held in Istanbul.

The war between Ukraine and Russia, which started on February 24, continues on its 33rd day. The peace negotiations that have taken place so far have yielded no results. The delegations of the two countries, after holding the first three meetings face to face, decided to continue negotiations online via teleconference.

David Arakhamia, a member of parliament in Ukraine's negotiation team, made a statement on his social media account, announcing that the next round of ongoing negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will be held in Turkey on March 28-30, "Today in the negotiations via videoconference, the next round will be face-to-face. It was decided to be held in Turkey on 28-30 March. Details will come later.”

Russian Vice President Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the Russian delegation, said in a statement, "Today, in the meetings held via videoconference with the Ukrainian side, it was decided to hold the next round face-to-face on March 28-30."

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also made a statement on his Twitter account regarding the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine that will take place in Turkey: “As a result of the initiatives of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the negotiation delegations of Russia and Ukraine will meet in Turkey. We are aware of the responsibility of the trust of the parties in Turkey. We hope that the meetings will result in a permanent ceasefire and lead to peace," he said.
