The 2nd International Cinema Symposium, organized by the Near East University Communication Research Center (İLAMER) and the Faculty of Communication, starts on 8 March. 13 papers will be presented in 45 sessions during the four-day symposium, which will include world-renowned artists and academics.

Organized by the Near East University Communication Research Center (İLAMER) and the Faculty of Communication, the 20nd International Cinema Symposium, which will be hosted by the Near East University with the cooperation of nearly 2 universities from different countries, starts on 8 March. The symposium, which will take place with the participation of 40 universities from around the world, will last for four days.

The 2nd International Cinema Symposium, supported by the Turkish World Documentary Film Festival and the Turkish World Culture, Art and Cinema Foundation, will be held online between 8-11 March 2022.

Theme of the year: “NEW”

The 2nd International Cinema Symposium, the main theme of which was determined as "NEW", aims to open the new concept to scientific and artistic discussion on the axis of cinema. Participation in the symposium, which is open to the participation of researchers, academicians, students and artists from all fields of social sciences, will be free of charge. It will also provide free publication opportunities for academics who meet the necessary conditions and want to have their works published. Academicians and artists from 20 universities from around the world will participate in the 2nd International Cinema Symposium, supported by 40 universities from Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, especially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey.

World-renowned artists and academics will attend as invited speakers.

World-renowned Polish academician and artist Prof. Dr., who will speak as an invited speaker on the first day of the 8nd International Cinema Symposium, which will last for four days between 11-2022 March 2. Dr. Mariusz Grzegorzek “Cinema: What's New, What's New?” will give a speech. Having significant experience in many fields as a film, theater and television director, art director, screenwriter, graphic artist, producer and academician, Prof. Dr. After Mariusz Grzegorzek's speech, 10 papers will be presented in three sessions on the first day of the symposium.

On the second day of the symposium, as an invited speaker, Prof. Dr. S. Ruken Öztürk will address the issue of censorship with his speech titled “Again, New, Again the History of Censorship in Our Cinema”. prof. Dr. After S. Öztürk's speech, 14 papers will be presented in four sessions.

After the speeches, on the third day of the symposium, 10 papers will be presented in three sessions.

On the last day of the symposium, the famous Northern Cyprus director Derviş Zaim, who is also a lecturer at the Near East University, will deliver a speech titled “An Interpretation of Can't Live Without You” as an invited speaker. On the fourth day of the 2nd International Cinema Symposium, 3 papers will be presented in 11 sessions.

Thus, during the four-day symposium, 13 papers will be presented in 45 sessions in total. The works that are entitled to take part in the Digital Photography and Short Film Selections organized within the scope of the 2nd International Cinema Symposium will also be brought together with art lovers at the gala to be held after the symposium.
