The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure stated that they considered the potential for an increase in the number of passengers after the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus epidemic, and stated that they determined a ceiling fare tariff in the field of road passenger transportation in order to avoid exorbitant prices.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure stated that after the gradual lifting of the restrictions on passenger transportation during the coronavirus epidemic period, the increase in intercity travel, both the complaints to the Ministry and the news about high-priced tickets in the media, they worked on a ceiling fare tariff to be applied in the field of road passenger transportation. He noted that in order to prevent those who take advantage of this increase in the number of passengers from making unfair profits with exorbitant ticket prices and to protect the passengers, they have determined a ceiling fee tariff to be applied for 3 months to be applied in the field of road passenger transportation, and that the tariff has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force to be applied by all companies.

The ceiling fee tariff will be valid for 3 months.

The Ministry pointed out that with this regulation, they aim to prevent exorbitant ticket price practices. Stating that the ceiling fee tariff will be valid for 3 months, the Ministry pointed out that if the fee tariffs previously received by the B1 and D1 authorization certificate holders are above the ceiling fee schedule determined by the communiqué, the ceiling fee schedule will be applied without the need for any further action.

Underlining that the tariff determined on the basis of kilometers is the highest tariff that can be applied to companies that carry out intercity passenger transportation activities, the Ministry stated that it is also possible for companies to carry out transportation at lower fees than the ceiling tariff.
