Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues the maintenance, repair and regulation works on the required roads. Teams of the Department of Science Department of Derince district of the intersection in order to reduce traffic density and increase the safety of the intersection carried out at the junction. Within the scope of the study, a new refuge was created at the intersection and the existing refuges were expanded.

NEW REFUGE IN D-100 INPUT

While the Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out important transportation projects throughout the city, it does not neglect to make arrangements at some needed points. At this point, studies were carried out at Derince Çenesuyu Junction. In the intersection arrangement with the devoted work of the Department of Science Affairs, a new refuge was built at the entrance of D-100. The existing refuges were also expanded. At the entrance of D-100, expansion works were carried out and 250 meter road border, 100 refuge border and 30 cubic meter concrete material were used.

PURPOSE OF IMPROVING TRAFFIC SAFETY

Derince Çenesuyu intersection, especially where the shift starts and ends, morning and evening hours are experiencing vehicle density. The small size of the median junction at the intersection caused the vehicles to enter the junction uncontrollably. With the arrangement work, it was ensured that the vehicles entered the intersection more controlled and moved within a certain order. The aim of the study is to prevent the accumulation of irregular vehicles and to prevent traffic accidents and to increase traffic safety.
