Funda Ocak, General Manager of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), informed the official Twitter account about the last situation in Milas Bodrum Airport. The tweets containing the explanations of Ocak, who announced that the works are going on intensely, are as follows:
In addition to our large investments, maintenance and repair works in our airports continue. Our teams are working day and night to make our airports even better.
Milas Bodrum is one of the airports where the works continue intensively. There was a significant progress in repairing the PAT areas planned to be completed in 15.07.2019 and continued to break.
To talk about the level of work:
• The parallel taxiway was re-assembled.
• New apron (35 parking position), new apron link taxiway and fuel hydrant system were constructed.
• Heliport was performed.
• Transmitter building and antenna tower (35 meter steel tower).
The provisional partial acceptance of the completed productions was made and the parallel taxiway was launched on 02.05.2018 and the new apron was launched on 12.07.2018.
After the parallel taxiway was opened on 02.05.2018, the main runway was delivered to the contractor for the renovation on 17.09.2018.
The work to be done within the scope of the work can be listed as follows: Renovation of the main runway concrete, 1-0 Filling of the marshy area with runway, renewal of approach lights and electrical infrastructures, conversion of the existing drainage system to closed system.
When this very important repair project is completed, our airport will have the opportunity to provide more comfortable service to our guests. Many thanks to those who contributed.
