Basra-Iran Railway Project Stopped due to Financial Resource Deficit: According to the news of the General Directorate of Railways, the Iraqi side of the Iran-Basra railway project, which was completed on the Iranian side by the Iraqi border, was stopped due to lack of financial resources. It is planned that the connection in Iraq will be 36 km and a bridge will be constructed in addition to the railway. Iran considers the project to be strategic in increasing its exports to Iraq.
