Tube passage proposal for İzmir transportation: İTO President Ekrem Demirtaş suggested building tube crossings at three points to solve the transportation problem in İzmir's city center.
Ekrem Demirtaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İZMİR Chamber of Commerce (İTO), suggested building a tube passage at three points to solve the transportation problem in İzmir's city center. Demirtaş explained that Atatürk Stadium could also be renewed by excavating the ground and increasing the audience capacity, and emphasized that “Shopping Malls are not included in the stadium in the project.
İzmir Chamber of Commerce President Ekrem Demirtaş announced his idea projects for the solution of transportation problems with the stadium, which has been discussed for months in İzmir. Emphasizing that idea projects should not be associated with local elections, Demirtaş said, “Every issue of İzmir concerns us, we did not turn our backs on any problems of our city, nor did we tell us. When we were interested in tourism, we were criticized as "Are you the Ministry of Tourism?" But we never hesitated to take responsibility. Because we dream of İzmir to be a city of happy people ”.
"SABOTAGE MADE IN IZMIR"
İTO President Ekrem Demirtaş, arguing that the closure of the Alsancak Stadium because it is not resistant to earthquakes was a sabotage against the city, he said:
“In the week of the start of the 2014-2015 football season, İzmir Alsancak Stadium was closed because it was not earthquake resistant. This is really a sabotage against Izmir. Browse We, therefore, it does not exist for other closed state in Turkey. Although some stadiums are likewise unstable, temporary solutions have been found. First of all, I would like to state that we want Alsancak Stadium to be strengthened and protected on site. Alsancak Stadium is the history of this city. On the other hand, we should definitely evaluate Atatürk Stadium, which is the biggest stadium of our city, due to its location, easy accessibility and size. "
"THE FLOOR OF ATATÜRK STADI WILL BE EXPLORED, AND ITS ATTENDANCE WILL INCREASE"
İTO President Demirtaş stated that the ground of Atatürk Stadium will be excavated and the audience capacity will be increased with the additional tribune.
“According to our project, firstly the ground will be excavated about 5.4 meters more. With the lowering of the elevation and the removal of the athletics function, the audience capacity will be increased by building an additional tribune, from 50 thousand 394 to 72 thousand 640. Thus, the gap created by the existing gap between the field and the audience will be eliminated and the excitement and excitement of the match will be felt. While the quarter of the section is currently closed, all the tribunes will be covered with a suspended tension top cover on steel legs (ETFE). There will be a covered grandstand around the Seha Aksoy Athletics field (Olympic football field and 8-lane running track), which currently has grandstands on one long side. Thus, the audience capacity will be increased from 3 people to 736 people. There will be a food and beverage unit in the southwest corner of the Atatürk Stadium. The existing overground car parks for 13 vehicles and 832 vehicles will be preserved where they are. "
"NO SHOPPING MALL"
İTO President Demirtaş emphasized that there is not a shopping mall in the stadium proposal project and said, “An underground car park of 12 vehicles will be built in front of Halkapınar Sports Hall and in the section where there are two open football fields, and an underground car park for 452 vehicles will be built under the open car park in the southwest corner of Atatürk Stadium. In other words, a capacity of 2 thousand 207 vehicles will be created with aboveground and underground car parks. As you can see, our proposal project does not have a shopping mall, it will only be a food and beverage unit that can meet the needs of the visitors. Of course, it can be a fan sales store, ”he said.
TUBE TUNNEL IN THE BEACH
İTO President Ekrem Demirtaş suggested three tube crossings for the solution of İzmir's transportation problem. Demirtaş explained the details of the project in which all transit passes in the city center are taken underground:
“Kordonboyu- Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard will be an immersed tube tunnel. On the 7.4-kilometer route extending from the coastline to the Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard Üçkuyular turn, we have suggested that 3 round trips and 3 arrivals going parallel to the coast, the immersed tube tunnel should be built, Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard should be completely pedestrianized, greened, and arranged so that only tram runs as a vehicle. Integration of the coast with the city, giving secondary exits to Mithatpaşa and Susuzdede, creating small artificial islands at the exit points and carrying vehicle traffic to Mithatpaşa Street by viaducts, and building underground parking lots under green areas in Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard. It is recommended to find a permanent solution to the parking problem. So on Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard Karşıyaka- As in the Bostanlı coastal area, while obtaining large recreational areas, İzmir residents will be integrated with the sea. The tunnels in Konak will continue from Konak to Kordon to the port viaducts in two arrivals and two departures. The Izmir ring road, which was left unfinished with the Kordon road and viaducts, will also be passed to the city center. "
TUBE TUNNEL FOR BASMANE TRAFFIC
In order to relieve the traffic between Demirtaş, Konak and Basmane, tunnel passage between Konak Pier and Mürselpaşa Boulevard was prevented and, “In the current situation, a vehicle coming from Konak direction will go to Fevzipaşa Boulevard or Gazi Boulevard and Basmane Square and then to Mürselpaşa Boulevard. Karşıyaka- Connecting to Bornova. For this reason, although it is a very short distance, there is an incomprehensible traffic between Konak and Basmane. At this point, transit vehicle traffic can be transferred directly without entering the city center through a tube tunnel that will be directly connected to Mürselpaşa Boulevard, starting from Konak Pier.
ALSANCAK GAR SQUARE WILL BE DEVELOPED
İTO President Demirtaş proposed a two-storey tunnel between Vahap Özaltay Square, Alsancak Station Square and viaducts. Demirtaş said, “It was to take the vehicle traffic coming from Talatpaşa Boulevard, Şair Eşref Boulevard and Ziya Gökalp Boulevard and united in Vahap Özaltay Square underground from Vahap Özaltay Square to the harbor viaducts. Thus, with the pedestrianization of Vahap Özaltay Square and Alsancak Station Square, large squares will be gained and a cultural axis will be formed from the Gas Factory to Kültürpark. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has announced that it has a project tender to realize this project ”.
COST STUDY WAS NOT MADE
Stating that they did not do cost studies for idea projects, Demirtaş said, “İzmir Metropolitan Municipality held the fair with its own resources. This can be started step by step. It can be done using the build-operate-transfer method. First let's have a dream, let's create such projects, then let's think about how to do it. We didn't do a cost study. "It doesn't cost too much."
