Erciyes Ski Center Winter Ready: Located between the major ski resorts of Turkey Erciyes, mechanical facilities and runway maintenance and repair work completed and was ready for the winter season 2014-2015.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Erciyes AŞ Chairman Murat Cahid Cıngı said that Erciyes will serve its guests with its more developed infrastructure in the new season.
Stating that they will serve with 18 mechanical facilities, 60 tracks with a width of approximately 102 meters and a length of 34 kilometers, Cıngı said that Erciyes is a living organism like all other mountains and that natural events such as wind, rain, flood affect the mountain, and an expert. He stated that the teams are doing rehabilitation work throughout the summer.
Although the runways were deformed again due to the recent rains, Cıngı said that the teams were working again quickly.
"We have 10 people in technical maintenance team not in any ski resort in Turkey. These friends are experts in both tracks and roped transport systems. They received the necessary training at home and abroad, they are constantly developing. In the summer, we control all of our mechanical facilities, from reel to bolt, from electronic devices to digital systems. After all, we are carrying people. We endeavor to ensure that none of our guests have a nosebleed or have any trouble, in peace and joy. Fortunately, we did not encounter any negativity as we have followed our work meticulously until this time. "
Even though the oldest of the mechanical facilities are 3 annually, Cıngı stated that they pay attention to maintenance work and that the facilities can be worn over time due to the continuous movement, and that the metal and plastic parts and the digital systems need to be revised due to the fact that they work in the most demanding conditions of nature.
- Security measures are taken with nets
Cıngı stated that Erciyes has ski resorts in the world such as Austria, France and Switzerland and said that the Divan facility at the gate of Hisarcık will be put into service this year and that high-level professional skiers can ski here.
Emphasizing that the slopes of the tracks in this region are not suitable for athletes who are just starting to ski due to their slope, length and the cliff and rocky surroundings, Cıngı said, “We made a security tender for this place with a cost of approximately 3 million TL. We equip our skiers with the highest level of safety nets around the slopes so that our skiers do not fall into the abyss and crash and injure the rocks. Our Develi gate will also be opened this year. "We will activate new snowing units for the tracks there," he said.
- Erciyes will not have any snow problems
Cıngı stated that many ski resorts had a great problem due to the lack of sufficient snow last year and that there was no such problem in Erciyes thanks to the snowing units, and emphasized that if there is no snowfall that they expect this year, they will activate the snowing units again and make the slopes ready for skiing.
Noting that they can snow an area of 150 million 1 thousand square meters on the mountain with 700 artificial snow machines, Cıngı said, “Erciyes will not have a snow problem this year. We produce snow by drawing water from an artificial lake of 245 thousand cubic meters that we have created for snow-making units. This ensures that our tracks are always ready for skiing ”.
