The construction of the cable car facility in Balçova, which was closed 9 years ago, such as the Üçyol-Üçkuyular Metro Line works, which can only be completed in 7 years in Izmir, has turned into a snake story. It turned out that not all of the poles could be erected in the cable car facilities, which could not be completed on April 30, which was recently announced by the Metropolitan Municipality. In the statement made by the Metropolitan Municipality, it was announced that only 8 of the 6 poles forming the backbone of the system were erected.

40 was founded years ago
The cable car facilities established approximately 40 years ago were closed on November 29, 26, after the inspection of the Izmir Branch of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers, worn down to endanger the life safety, and the steel ropes were thinning from 5 millimeters to 2007 millimeters. The tender was awarded by the Metropolitan Municipality on January 7, 2010 and 460 days were granted for renovation works. In April 2013, it was announced that the facility, the foundations of which were laid with the participation of many politicians, especially President Aziz Kocaoğlu, will be completed and put into service on 31 December 2013.

Constantly postponed
President Aziz Kocaoğlu stated that since the work at Balçova Cable Car Facilities will be carried out in the forest area, the necessary permissions from the Regional Directorate of Forestry came late, with a delay of approximately 120 days. Later, the Deputy Secretary General, Raif Canbek, who answered the application made by a citizen within the framework of the Information Act, announced that the "Renovation of Balçova Cable Car Facilities" will be completed on April 30. However, it turned out that 8 more posts that would be the backbone of the facility could not be erected.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality made a statement regarding the examination made by Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu in the construction of the facility. In the statement, it was stated that the planting of 8 of the 6 posts to be completed in the facility has been completed, and that the rough construction of the upper station continues and that the ropes will be stretched after the remaining two pillars have been installed. The cable car system, designed in accordance with European Union standards and carrying 200 passengers per hour, will be 810 meters long and 316 meters high. 8 gondolas with a capacity of 20 people will work on the line and the travel time will be 2 minutes 42 seconds. The facility will cost 12 million liras.
