Ankara-Istanbul YHT line will open on July 11: Transport, Maritime and Communication Minister Elvan stated that they are planning to open the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed ​​Train line on July 11.

Minister Elvan, in his statement, explained that all the work on the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line, which citizens are eagerly awaiting its opening, was done with great care, almost breaking a hair. In this context, Minister Elvan stated that all test drives were successfully completed on the line and said, "There is no obstacle to the opening of the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line, we plan to open the line as the 11th of this month."

It was stated that according to the schedule of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the opening date may deviate 1-2 days.

Will go from Istanbul to Ankara in 3,5 hours

Ankara-Eskişehir section of 533 kilometers of Ankara-İstanbul YHT line of 245 kilometers was put into service at 2009. Once the line is fully in service, the travel time between the two cities will be reduced to 3,5 hours.

Ankara-Istanbul YHT line will include Polatlı, Eskişehir, Bozüyük, Bilecik, Pamukova, Sapanca, İzmit, Gebze and Pendik.

In the first phase, the last stop will be Pendik and the line will be extended to Söğütlüçeşme station. Ankara-Istanbul YHT line will be connected to Marmaray at 2015 and HalkalıIt will reach until. There will be 16 daily trips. After connecting to Marmaray, there will be a trip every 15 minutes or half an hour.

With the commissioning of the Ankara and Istanbul YHT line, the railway share, which is 10 percent in passenger transportation, is expected to increase to 78 percent. It is aimed to serve approximately 50 thousand passengers a day on the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line and 17 million passengers a year.
