Railway workers' strike in France may be prolonged: On the third day of the strike of railroad workers in France, transportation is paralyzed. President Hollande called on railway workers to "end the strike now"

French President François Hollande called on railway workers to end the strike after the train transportation was paralyzed across the country.Hollande said to journalists, "It should be aware of when the ongoing action should end in order not to victimize other people." Hollande, who wanted it to end, said that "the way of dialogue between the government and the unions is always open." Transport Minister Frederic Cuvillier declared that the meetings he held this morning with union representatives who called for a strike did not get results and warned that the strike could be extended until Monday.

Speaking to France inter radio channel, Cuvillier took a step back from his previous statements that the strike would end soon, and said, “The unions decided to continue the strike. I regret this. The continuation of the strike threatens the high school graduation exams that will start on Monday, ”he said.

The government aims to bring together two different national railway operating and management companies under one roof and open the train services to free competition conditions due to the accumulated debts.
