The number of passengers carried in the first 6 months of the Marmaray, Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI) announced by the end of 2013 by 14 million 160 thousand 467 reached 1,5 times the population of Istanbul. In the first 6 months, 21 million 353 thousand 339 passengers were transported with Marmaray.
Serving at the departments of Ayrılıkçeşme, Üsküdar, Sirkeci, Yenikapı and Kazlıçeşme, Marmaray's stations with the highest density in 6 months were Ayrilik Çeşmesi and Üsküdar, each with 25 percent.
