Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will hold the construction tender on August 30 for Develi, Tekeli and Pancar stations on the 31 km additional line that will extend the Aliağa-Menderes Suburb to Torbalı.
Stations will be pedestrian underpass, elevator and escalator.
Work is continuing to extend the Aliağa-Menderes Commuter System, which is carried out in partnership with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and TCDD, to Torbalı. In accordance with the protocol signed with TCDD, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has completed its projects for 30 stations and 5 highway overpasses on an additional line of 7 kilometers, is carrying out stage construction tenders. Having realized the tender of Torbalı and Tepeköy stations from 5 stations on the line in July, Büyükşehir will hold tenders for Develi, Tekeli and Pancar stations on August 31, 2012.
Following the completion of the tender and delivery of the stations, the construction of the stations will be completed in 16 months. Stations are projected as 210 meter length, lower ticket hall, pedestrian underpass, elevator and escalator.
5 STATION 7 HIGHWAY UPPER PASS
Within the scope of the additional line to be built in Aliağa-Menderes Suburban system, which has become an indispensable public transportation line for Izmir people in a short time, a total of 5 stations will be built in Develi, Tekeli, Pancar, Torbalı and Tepeköy, after the Friova Station. In addition, highway overpass in Menderes Gölcükler, partial underpass in Cumaovası, highway overpass in Develi, highway overpass in Tekeli, highway overpass in Pancar, highway overpass in Torbali Kuşcuburnu, highway overpass in Torbalı and Highway overpass will be built in Tepeköy. Again, in Tepeköy, the construction of the pedestrian overpass with elevator and escalators will be carried out in order to ensure the safe passage of citizens across the street.
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS
According to the protocol made by the Metropolitan Municipality with TCDD, the station works and sub-overpasses will be carried out by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, while the one-line railway from Cumaovasi to Torbali will be removed even by TCDD. The construction of the protection walls of the line, signaling and electrification systems in line with the line of Aliağa-Cumaovası Torbalı Tepeköy'a extension will be done by TCDD again.
With the addition of the extra line, passengers traveling from Aliağa and the city center will have the opportunity of safe, fast, uninterrupted and comfortable travel to Torbalı. The passengers of Selçuk, Bayındır, Tire and Ödemiş will be able to travel by rail from Torbalı to İzmir center and from there to Aliağa.
