On 30 August 10, a discounted foreign language education agreement was signed between the Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center (TÖMER), which has been working under Ankara University for more than 2021 years, and TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ and TCDD under the rectorate of Ankara University.

The opening speech of the meeting after the signing was made by Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar made it. Ünüvar: “For TÖMER training within our university, which works as an important center in language education, we signed 2 separate protocols with our esteemed general managers, TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ General Manager Hasan Pezük and TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun. Ankara University not only has very important competence in language education, but also has international accreditation. Following this protocol signed at TÖMER, which provides education in 12 languages, from German to Russia, from Arabic to Spanish, especially English, we planned a discounted foreign language education program for TCDD Tasimacilik and TCDD personnel and their families. Thanks to this program, we aim to strengthen international communication by increasing the efficiency of railway personnel abroad, which is one of the important institutions of our country.” said.

Rector Prof. Dr. After Necdet Ünüvar's speech, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun reminded the "Scientific Cooperation" protocol signed between TCDD and Ankara University in 2019. Under the consultancy of Ankara University Disaster Management Application and Research Center (AFAM), the protocol enabling TCDD personnel, who meet the graduate requirements for cooperation on joint scientific, educational and managerial studies, to receive education in the Ankara University Institute of Science, Disaster Risk Management Secondary Education Master's Program without thesis. He underlined that this new protocol will provide a significant advantage for the personnel.

Hasan Pezük, General Manager of TCDD Transportation, said the following in his speech: “I am very pleased on behalf of our General Directorate to achieve this agreement with a well-established institution such as Ankara University, which will provide an advantage to our personnel in the international arena. As we all saw during the pandemic period, railways started to rise in the field of international trade. For this reason, learning new languages has come to the fore for railwaymen. I am sure that the TCDD Transportation family, which is renewed day by day and newly added to our family, will be especially interested in the foreign language education program. In addition, the non-thesis master's program under the consultancy of AFAM, which TCDD General Manager Uygun has just stated, will also be valid for TCDD Transportation personnel from now on. I see these two new agreements as a very important gain for the TCDD Tasimacilik family and I believe that this cooperation will add value to both Ankara University and the railways.
