Under the coordination of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, the "Electronic Clamp Application", which has been carried out as a pilot in 2019 provinces since 15 in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice, has been activated in 81 provinces.
An "Electronic Monitoring Center" was established within the Ministry of Interior Security and Emergency Situations Coordination Center (GAMER) in order to spread the "Electronic Clamp Application" throughout the country. In this context, with the newly created technical infrastructure, it was ensured that the follow-up decisions were fulfilled in a country-wide manner with the technical methods given within the scope of the Law No. 6284.
Electronic handcuffs application in combating violence against women introduced to Police, Gendarmerie and ŞÖNİM personnel
Under the coordination of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, a briefing meeting was held on the newly established "Electronic Monitoring Center" and the system infrastructure in order to monitor the "Electronic Clamp Application", which has been carried out since 2019, throughout the country.
At the meeting, which was held with the participation of approximately 81 personnel from the Police, Gendarmerie and ŞÖNİM from 500 provinces, the "Electronic Monitoring Center" discussed what needs to be done in order to carry out the follow-up application without interruption with the technical methods to be widespread throughout the country.
At the meeting; Officials from the General Directorate on the Status of Women, the General Directorate of Security and the Gendarmerie General Command made presentations. With the aforementioned presentations, the participants were informed about the processes and procedures regarding the determination of the suitability of cases with technical methods, the request and implementation of follow-up decisions by technical methods, and the finalization of the decision, as well as the new Electronic Monitoring Center and the system infrastructure.
In this context, the first meeting was held by the General Directorate of the Status of Women, for ŞÖNİM Managers and professional staff, with the participation of 13 personnel concerned, on "Follow-up with Technical Methods (Electronic Clamp application)" on January 14-22-2021, 160.
