President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: “Thus, we have gained a breathing tube that will serve for centuries to the region with the most intense human and freight mobility in our country. By combining the two sides of the Sea of ​​Marmara with 3 bridges and a tunnel in the Bosphorus, as well as a bridge in the Dardanelles, we are already getting the tangible results of the potential we have created in the Region. The economic, commercial and touristic activity, which is squeezed into a narrow space, begins to spread over a wide area, to add value to the whole of our country, and to reflect on our nation as jobs and employment.”

Emphasizing that the Gallipoli-Eceabat Divided Road project has further raised the transportation infrastructure standards of the Region, President Erdoğan said, “Today, we are opening the completed 47,5 kilometers of this 32 kilometer project that will facilitate access to the historical peninsula on the European side of Çanakkale. Together with the road, we are opening 2 tunnels with a total length of 560 thousand 644 meters, one of which is 355 thousand 792 meters, one is 5 meters, the other is 351 meters and the other is 4 meters. made the statement.

Adding that the road, which is an important part of the route from Havsa to Çanakkale, will provide great convenience to visitors going to the historical site by reducing the transportation from 45 minutes to 25 minutes, Erdoğan said, “Special attention was paid to the preservation of the historical, archaeological and natural texture of the region during the construction of the project. Thanks to this road, our country will save 161 million liras annually from time and fuel, and will reduce carbon emissions by nearly 4 tons.” he said.
