'Tour Of Mersin International Cycling Tour', one of the biggest sports organizations of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality and included in the International Cycling Union (UCI) competition calendar, will be held for the 6th time this year. Tour of Mersin, one of the 4 most important cycling races in Turkey, will start from Anamur on April 4. As part of the organization, which will continue until April 7, athletes will pedal a total of 518,4 km.

Organized by the Youth and Sports Services Department and covering all 13 districts of Mersin, the 'Tour of Mersin International Cycling Tour' will take place with a record participation this year. A total of 5 athletes from 30 different countries, including many important names of the cycling world, will participate in the competition, which will include participation from 171 continents. Tour of Mersin, in which 146 foreign and 25 Turkish athletes will participate; It consists of 4 stages: Anamur-Gülnar, Gülnar-Mersin, Tarsus-Mersin and Mersin center.

In the organization where 102 athletes from the European Continent, 56 from the Asian Continent, 5 from the American Continent, and 4 athletes from the African and Australian Continent will participate, the winning athletes will be awarded a total of 19 thousand 30 Euros.
The race, which will start from Anamur Anemurium Ancient City at 4 am on April 11, will last 4 days in stages and will be completed on April 7 at Mersin Özgecan Aslan Barış Square. In the organization; There will be 30 teams and 25 athletes from 171 countries, including Turkey, France, Germany, Japan, China, Netherlands, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Switzerland and Spain.

Noting that the importance of this organization will be better understood considering that 2023 athletes from 23 countries will participate in the Presidential Cycling Tour in 168, Taşkın said, “Our organization will start from the Anemurium Ancient City on April 4. The Anamur-Gulnar stage will take place on the 1st day, and the stage will finish in Gülnar, Mut, Silifke, Erdemli and Mersin on the 2nd day. On the 3rd day, we have the Tarsus-Çamlıyayla stage, and on the last day, we have the last stage in Mersin city center, covering Akdeniz, Yenişehir and Mezitli districts.
