Istanbul's Dams Were Blessed with Rain

Istanbul, the Marmara region and the whole country received continuous rainfall due to the rainy weather wave. The rains also brought abundance to the dams of Istanbul, which was experiencing the driest period of recent years. The dams that provide water to the city reached an occupancy rate of 16 percent with the recent rains, down from levels that dropped to 22,63 percent.

With the rains, Ömerli reached 44,75 percent, Elmalı 43 percent, Darlık 36 percent, Alibey 23,85 percent and Istrancalar 21 percent. While meteorological data indicate that the rainy season will continue, economical water use is still of great importance due to the current occupancy in dams.
