E-scooter Speed ​​Limit Reduced for Pedestrian Safety in Istanbul

With the decision of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME), the e-scooter speed limit was reduced from 5 km/h to 20 km/h in 12.5 districts where pedestrian circulation is intense. The application went into effect as of November 17, 2023.

At the meeting of UKOME on 31 August, 'KadıköyA proposal was made to adjust the e-scooter speed limit from 20 km/h to 12.5 km/h in sensitive areas with high pedestrian density in Şişli, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu and Fatih districts.

The proposal in question was accepted by UKOME and the necessary signature processes were completed. Scooter drivers now KadıköyIn areas with high pedestrian density in Şişli, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu and Fatih districts, it will be able to travel at a maximum speed of 12.5 kilometers per hour.
