Ankara's Disaster Response Plan is Ready

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş signed the "ABB Disaster Response Plan", which was prepared as a result of studies and workshops carried out with NGOs, Search and Rescue Associations, academics and volunteers, covering all units of the Municipality. Within the scope of the plan, which includes how to respond in case of disaster, vehicle/inventory status, personnel duties and response definitions, the responsibilities of the units are also clearly defined.

ABB PREPARED THE DISASTER RESPONSE PLAN OF THE CAPITAL

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has prepared the "Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Response Plan", which provides guidance under the leadership of national and international documents in order to intervene effectively against possible disasters, to use resources in the most effective way and to bring the city to a safe future.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş signed the "ABB Disaster Response Plan", which was prepared as a result of studies and workshops carried out with NGOs, Search and Rescue Associations, academics and volunteers, at the ceremony.

THE PLAN INCLUDES RESPONSE TO ALL KINDS OF DISASTER AND EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Response Plan primarily covers the main support solution partners that will take part in responding to all kinds of disasters and emergencies that may occur throughout the city and in the country, and the application areas of the units in order to ensure coordination.

Plan; It was carefully prepared based on the Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP), Provincial Disaster Response Plan, Provincial Risk Reduction Plan (İRAP) and technical data obtained from the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023. Studies and workshops conducted with NGOs, Search and Rescue Associations, academics and volunteers were included in the plan.

SAFE TOMORROW WITH “ABB DISASTER RESPONSE PLAN”

Stating that we are one step closer to a safe future with the prepared plan, Head of Disaster Affairs Department Özkan Erel gave the following information about the prepared plan:

“The purpose of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Response Plan; To define the duties and responsibilities of the working groups and coordination units that will take part in response efforts related to disasters and emergencies. In this context; It determines the basic principles of response planning before, during and after disaster. "I would like you to know that we will not give up our struggle to make Ankara and our country stronger and safer against disasters by getting one step closer to a safe future with the "ABB Disaster Response Plan", which is the most comprehensive and scientific study in local governments."

While all relevant units of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality are included in the disaster response, the plan also includes how to intervene in case of disaster, vehicle/inventory status, personnel duties and intervention definitions.
