
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has completed the landscaping works on the historical Malabadi Bridge, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Tentative List.
The Department of Parks and Gardens has completed 70 percent of the landscaping works it carried out to reveal the magnificence of the Malabadi Bridge, located within the borders of Silvan district.
In the project, where infrastructure works have been completed and superstructure works continue, a cafeteria, walking path, children's playground, observation terrace, gradual seating, fishing piers and recreation areas will be built in an area of 20 thousand square meters.
In the project that will appeal to everyone from 7 to 70, the teams will plant 14 trees of 500 different types, coniferous and leafy, 15 shrubs and 361 thousand 1523 ground cover plants on an area of 2 thousand 564 square meters.
In the study, where an area of 4 thousand square meters on the coastline will be used as a walking path, play groups will be placed in a 400 square meter section, allowing children to have a pleasant time in this area.
In the project, where a 210 square meter observation terrace will be built to allow visitors to comfortably watch the magnificence of the historical Malabadi Bridge, which has the widest arch among the stone bridges, a cafeteria with a 40 square meter usage area will also be built.
The Parks and Gardens Department will place 64 seating units, men's and women's toilets, 12 tables and 22 garbage bins in the designated sections to allow citizens to rest.
In order to ensure the healthy growth of green areas, the teams will build an 80 square meter water tank in the area determined within the scope of the project.
