Following the Mogan tram, which Gölbaşı Mayor Ramazan Şimşek carried out a full tour test drive, the Eymir tram also started its test drives. Mogan and Eymir trams, whose test runs are ongoing, met on Universities Street, creating a pleasant sight. Gölbaşı Mayor Ramazan Şimşek said that the test drives have come to an end and that the trams will start carrying passengers in the near future.

Mogan and Eymir Trams are two tram lines serving in Gölbaşı district of Ankara. The lines start from in front of Gölbaşı Municipality and extend to Mogan Lake and Eymir Lake respectively.

Mogan Tram Line

Mogan Tram Line is 6,5 kilometers long and consists of 12 stations. The line starts in front of Gölbaşı Municipality and extends to Mogan Lake. The stations on the line are:

  • Gölbaşı Municipality
  • Mogan Park
  • Lake Mogan

Eymir Tram Line

Eymir Tram Line is 4,5 kilometers long and consists of 8 stations. The line starts in front of Gölbaşı Municipality and extends to Eymir Lake. The stations on the line are:

  • Gölbaşı Municipality
  • Lake Eymir

Features of Trams

Both tram lines operate with a standard rail gauge of 750 millimeters and a voltage of 750 volts DC. The trams have 20 vehicles that are 2,4 meters long and 5 meters wide. Each vehicle has a capacity of 100 passengers.

Goals of Trams

The purpose of the tram lines is to solve the transportation problem in Gölbaşı district and increase the attractiveness of the district. With the trams coming into service, district residents and visitors will be able to reach Mogan Lake and Eymir Lake more easily and comfortably.

Investment Cost of Trams

The total investment cost of Mogan and Eymir tram lines was announced as 200 million TL. The tender for the construction of trams was held in 2021 and construction work started in 2022. The trams are expected to be put into service by the end of 2023.
