Ipek Öztosun, triathlete of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club, nicknamed "Iron Lady", came first in the 70.3-25 age category at Ironman 29 held in Italy.

Ipek Öztosun, triathlete of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club, won first place in the Ironman 70.3 competition held in Italy. Competing in the Ironman 17 competition, held in Cervia, Italy, on September 68, with the participation of 888 people from 70.3 countries, İpek Öztosun, nicknamed "Iron Lady", completed the challenging course consisting of swimming, cycling and running categories with a time of 5 hours, 1 minute and 27 seconds. With this result, İpek Öztosun came first in the women's 25-29 age category and came 12th in the general classification. Öztosun came third in the 25-29 age category and 12th in the general classification in the competition held in West-Friesland, Netherlands in June.

“I want to continue my successful momentum”

Triathlete İpek Öztosun, nicknamed “Iron Lady”, stated that she felt justified pride in returning from Italy with first place and from the Netherlands with third place, and said, “Last year, I competed in the Ironman 70.3 category for the first time. In my first competition, I came in fourth with a time of 4 hours, 59 minutes and 53 seconds. This year, I improved my time by 25 seconds on the same track in the Netherlands and came in third place. Being first in Italy also made me happy. I brought a medal to my country and my club. “I want to continue this successful momentum,” he said.
