
Morocco's National Geophysical Institute announced that there was a magnitude 7 earthquake in the country. The institute stated that the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers, was the El-Huz region of Marrakech in the north of the country.
In the statement made by the Moroccan Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was reported that 632 people died and 329 people were injured, according to initial findings, in the earthquake felt in many cities of the country.

Morocco's National Geophysical Institute announced that the 7-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Marrakesh was the largest earthquake in the country's history in the last century.
It was reported that Marrakech, Azilal, Agadir, Varzazat and Chichaoua were among the cities where deaths occurred.
In the statement, it was emphasized that local institutions, police forces and civil defense teams mobilized all their resources to detect the damage caused by the earthquake and deliver the necessary aid to those in need, and citizens were called to remain calm and not to panic.
Rescue teams in Morocco are trying to save those left in the rubble of collapsed buildings. Meanwhile, it was learned that the teams had difficulty reaching the earthquake zones due to the damage and closure of the roads after the earthquake.
