China Sets Record in Main Rocket Engine Trial for Crewed Lunar Missions

China Space Science and Technology Corporation recently announced that the sixth test run of the main rocket engine for future crewed lunar missions has been completed, setting a new industry record.

The company confirmed that the 130 ton class liquid oxygen kerosene rocket engine had a cumulative test time of 3 seconds after the last trial, setting a new record with the longest trial time of a single 300 ton class engine in China.

It has been announced that the rocket engine, which will be used as the main engine of China's future crewed Moon missions, needs higher performance and reliability.

China plans to launch a crewed Moon landing before 2030.
