IV. The Colorful Opening of the Fairy Tale İstanbul Festival at Küçükçekmece Lake and the 4th International Fairytale İstanbul Festival, organized by the Seiba International Storytelling Center this year, started at the Lakeside Amphitheater with the theme of “Tales Reaching for the Sun”. Children in particular showed great interest in the opening program of the festival, which started with a fun and colorful cortege accompanied by Clown and Circus Arts Group.

Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi, who spoke at the opening of the festival, said, “We are carrying out the 4th of this fairy tale journey we have prepared together with the Seiba International Storytelling Center. To date, we have tried to reach thousands of adults and children. In our Küçükçekmece, we introduced fairy tales to children who have never heard a fairy tale before. Within the scope of our festival, Fairy Tale Truck and fairy tale bike will meet with fairy tale lovers at 9 points in the city. On the last two days of our festival, our Fairy Tale truck will set off for Hatay and heal our children there with fairy tales. We are transforming Küçükçekmece into a city of culture. I want our children to meet books, movies and culture at the ages when they should be introduced. This was my dream, I am happy to realize my dream," he said.

Great interest from Küçükçekmece residents

The first day of the festival, which was directed by Küçükçekmece Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Director Güney Özkılınç and art director Nazlı Çevik Azazi, was the scene of colorful scenes. Nazlı Çevik Azazi told stories and fairy tales to the children at the festival that continued at the Lakeside Amphitheater after the walk, which took place with great interest of the people of Küçükçekmece. As part of the festival, the Pink Lemonade group sang songs for children.

The fairy tale journey will continue in Hatay after Küçükçekmece

Within the scope of the festival, which will last until June 13, local and foreign storytellers will meet with fairy tale lovers at 9 different points in Küçükçekmece. The stopping points of the Fairy Tale Truck and the fairy tale bike in the city will be the Seyir Park, Soyak Amphitheater, Cennet Meydan, Fine Arts Academy, Lakeside Amphitheater, Fatih Mahallesi Gündüz Child Care Center, as well as the cultural centers in the district. In the last 2 days of the festival, the fairy tale truck will set off for Hatay. On June 12-13, storytellers, fairy tale trucks and fairy tale bikes will come together in Hatay's Serinyol, Yeniçağ and Aknehir Neighborhoods, and they will heal the cognitive and spiritual world of children affected by the earthquake with fairy tales.

In addition to Turkish storytellers, there are also expert storytellers from abroad at the festival.
