Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Road and Infrastructure Coordination Department continues its road, asphalt, culvert and bridge works uninterruptedly with the construction sites it has established throughout Malatya. In this context, bridge works were started in Darende Aşağı Ulupınar, Yenice and Çınar by the Metropolitan Municipality.
Mehmet Şahin, one of the residents of the neighborhood, who expressed his satisfaction for the work done, said, “The old version was quite narrow and was kept upright with poles. I put things on my own so that people wouldn't fall, and I made it a little bit better. God bless whoever made this work. Special thanks to the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality.
The Headman of the Lower Ulupınar Neighborhood, Ömer Sağlam, thanked the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Selahattin Gürkan, and said, “The bridges had lost their concrete feature, they were standing with the support of tree poles, the vehicles would now fall off the bridge. Our President, Selahattin Gürkan, made an investment of 67 million TL for the service that our Lower Ulupınar neighborhood received in 4 years, despite the economic crisis and pandemic period in 10 years. He worked on drinking water waybill, sewerage, bridge, hot asphalt and parquet. God bless you. We trust our President Selahattin and we are always with him. As Aşağı Ulupınar Mahallesi, we stand by our President Selahattin, may Allah be pleased with his cat again.”
Yenice Neighborhood Headman Hamit Gürbüz said, “This bridge was really unusable. Our Metropolitan Mayor Selahattin Gürkan team is carrying out the necessary work. Our Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality performed many services here. God bless him. Drinking water line, sewerage and asphalt services, which are the other needs of our neighborhood, have been realized, we are very pleased with him, may God be pleased with him, I hope it will be better in the future.
Speaking about the works carried out in Darende district, Head of Road and Infrastructure Coordination Department Hakan Demir said, “We have been carrying out intensive studies in Malatya in 13 districts and 718 neighborhoods since 2019. We are here to accompany the part in Darende of the construction of 20 bridges and culverts that we have done in Malatya. We are in the construction of a bridge on the main road in Darende Yenice Mahallesi. Our previous arch culvert process was posing great dangers due to flooding and wear of the concrete. At the end of the evaluations we have made here, we are at the stage of rebuilding the bridge. However, after these studies, we will have a healthier bridge and a more comfortable road. We have 4 more culvert zones similar to this one in Darende. With the completion of these, we will have resolved the infrastructure problems in Darende.”
