The “Milk Support Project” initiated by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality to raise healthy generations continues. Within the scope of the project initiated by the Social Services Department in 2021, 45 liters of milk per month are delivered free of charge to 300 thousand families receiving social assistance. Since the milk given for children aged 2-5 is supplied from local producers, it also contributes to the city's economy.

The “Milk Support Project” implemented by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in order to ensure that every child has access to milk and to raise healthy generations in the capital continues.

The Social Services Department, launched the project in Sincan and Etimesgut districts as a pilot application in 2021, expanded it to all central districts of Ankara in 2022.

MONTHLY 300 THOUSAND LITER MILK SUPPORT

In project scope; 45 thousand liters of milk per month are delivered free of charge to 300 thousand families receiving social assistance. From milk support; Children between the ages of 2 and 5 from families receiving social assistance can benefit. The amount of milk delivered to households varies as 6, 9 and 12 liters depending on the number of children.

SUPPORT TO THE DOMESTIC MANUFACTURER

Milk is delivered to families' homes on a monthly basis by the personnel of the Social Services Department, and in this way, other needs of the families are determined.

In addition, the free milk is supplied from local producers, thus contributing to the city's economy.

Providing information on the subject, Social Services Department Social Assistance Planning and Coordination Branch Manager Ahmet Güven said:

“Families with children aged 2-5 benefit from milk support. Milk is delivered to families' homes on a monthly basis by the personnel of the Social Services Department, and it is planned to determine the other needs of the families in this way. “
