Kia introduced its new electric vehicle EV22 at the 'Kia Brand Summit' event held in Frankfurt on May 23-9. Kia introduced the EV9 at the private brand summit held in Germany, conveying its bold corporate strategy and the brand's latest innovations. Kia plans to increase its global sales of electric vehicles to 2030 percent of total sales with 2,38 million units by 55 and to become a leading electric vehicle brand. In line with this plan, Kia will invest 45 billion euros in the next five years, 22 percent of which will be in future business areas such as robotics, electric transition and autonomous driving.

Kia consolidates its success with the EV9

After the EV6, which won the Car of the Year award, Kia is reinforcing its commitment to electrification in Europe with the EV9. The brand, which will further expand its electric vehicle product range by introducing new models to the market until 2027, aims to become the number one electric vehicle manufacturer in the European market. Having broken a sales record in Europe in the first quarter of the year, with 34,9 percent of them being electric and electric powered vehicles, Kia is now reinforcing its success with the EV9.

Built on a proprietary electric vehicle platform, the Kia EV9 has technology, design and features unmatched for an electric SUV of this size and build. The Kia EV9 will feature Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities with “AutoMode” and “hands-free” Highway Driving Pilot feature, which will be available first in Germany and shine a light on the future of Europe. By 2026, Kia also plans to introduce Highway Drive Pilot 2, which will support “eyes-free” driving under certain conditions, with the aim of enabling fully autonomous driving in the future.

Designed by Berk Erner, a senior Turkish designer at Kia, the Kia EV9 draws attention with its impressive design. The EV9 stands out among electric SUVs not only with its technological features, but also with its interior upholstery made of sustainable and recyclable materials that do not contain leather, and instant updates offered via Kia Connect. Kia's newest electric model, the EV9, is expected to go on sale in Turkey in the first half of 2024.

Kia's electric vehicle sales increase in Europe

Providing almost 2022 percent of its sales in Europe from electric and electric-assisted vehicles in 35, Kia has increased its sales of electric and electric-assisted vehicles in the same region by approximately 8 percent compared to the previous year. Continuing to work for the electric future within the scope of Plan S strategy, Kia aims to lead the transformation in transportation by reaching 28,5 million battery sales annually on a global scale by 2030, with its target of 1,6 percent growth in electric vehicle sales in Europe within seven years.

Kia EV9 GT will also be produced

Kia plans to focus its capabilities on driving experience and differentiated design in product competition. High-performance GT equipment for the EV9 will continue to maintain the brand's sporty image after the EV6 GT. In design, Kia will continue its user-friendly design based on the philosophy of "Unification of Contrasts".
