Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler and Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek attended the Delivery Ceremony of the 4th A400M Aircraft, which was retrofitted, to the Turkish Air Force.
Within the framework of the contract between ASFAD and Airbus Defense and Space, the retrofit processes of the A400M aircraft were carried out at the Kayseri 2nd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate, while the delivery ceremony of the 4th A400M Aircraft, whose retrofit processes were completed, to the Turkish Air Force was held.
In his speech at the ceremony, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said that an important step was taken in terms of trade, economy and military, and that this work was the work of Kayseri.
When evaluated together with TOMTAŞ in terms of importance, meaning and historical perspective, Minister Akar, who described the developments as a development in line with the aviation spirit of Kayseri, said that this is an important step both technologically, economically and militarily by uniting civil-military. He stressed that further steps will follow.
Noting that there is knowledge, manners, desire, excitement and talent in this regard, Minister Akar stated that there is an airplane culture in Kayseri and that this culture will be kept alive with TOMTAŞ, and pointed out that the works to be carried out will make a very serious contribution to the country's economy.
In his speech, Minister Akar wished the 4th A400M Aircraft to be beneficial to the Turkish Air Force and said, “It is also a source of pride for us that the A4M retrofit operations, which can only be done in 400 centers in the world and which is one of the most advanced cargo aircraft, are carried out at the Kayseri 2nd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate. " said.
Participating in the ceremony, Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç said, “We attended the Delivery Ceremony of the A400M Aircraft, which was retrofitted with the participation of our Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, our Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler and our Air Force Commander General Atilla Gülan.”
Stating that Kayseri has become the only center in the world in this field, President Büyükkılıç said, “Our Kayseri has also become an important center in aviation under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our Minister of National Defense Mr. Hulusi Akar. After Airbus, Kayseri became the only center in the world. After the Airbus company, the fact that retrofit and maintenance and repair works are carried out in Kayseri, the only one in the world, has been a source of pride for our city and our country. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this work," he said.
Minister Akar and President Büyükkılıç examined the A400M aircraft and received information from the authorities.
