Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association introduced Turkish products on May 15-18 at APAS, the largest international supermarket fair in Latin America.

Muhammet Öztürk, Chairman of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association, said, “The Turkish exporter has declared 2023 the year of global attack with the Far Countries Strategy. We went on the field with Brazil, the largest economy in Latin America, on May 15-18, 2023. 22 Turkish companies successfully introduced our Turkish products for four days in Sao Paulo. We organized tasting events by offering Turkish coffee and Turkish delights to the exhibitors and visitors at the stand of our association.” said.

President Öztürk said, “Brazil is the 6th most populous country in the world in terms of population. It also borders ten countries of Latin America. As the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector, we export 8 million dollars to Brazil. Our industry is a leader in food exports. More than 40 percent of food exports are made by our exporters of cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products. Because Brazil is a distant destination, it is a difficult market and costs are high, but we have the potential to increase our exports. APAS Fair hosted 22 exhibitors and approximately 820 thousand visitors from 65 different countries this year. We are extremely pleased with the interest we received at the fair.” he said.

In the fair, Turkish Consul General in Sao Paulo Gürsel Evren, Commercial Attachés Seçil Önel and Gökçen Türk visited the stands of our association and the stands of other Turkish company participants and provided information about the Brazilian market.
