Business-ready innovations in SAP Business AI, Green Ledger, and the portfolio enable SAP to solve customers' most pressing problems. At the SAP Sapphire event in Orlando, SAP showcased its extensive innovations and collaborations that enable customers to tackle an uncertain future with confidence. SAP has announced that it will build strong AI capabilities into its portfolio to enable customers to solve business-critical problems. The statement included a number of improvements to SAP Business AI, including innovations that personalize customer interaction, make procurement more efficient, and expand organizations' ability to find and develop critical talent across the entire workforce.

With prominent announcements, including AI built into business solutions, ledger-based accounting for carbon tracking, and industry-specific networks to support supply chain resilience, SAP helps customers move their business models to the cloud. Thus, businesses put sustainability at the center of their business and increase their agility to be successful in ever-changing conditions.

Speaking at the event, SAP CEO Christian Klein said, “In a world marked by market disruptions, changing regulatory environments and critical skills shortages, our customers are choosing SAP for the solutions they need to solve their most pressing problems. “The innovations we announce at SAP Sapphire leverage our heritage of responsibly developed, enterprise technology designed with decades of industry and process expertise to help our customers succeed today and in the future.”

Artificial intelligence at the service of the business world

Leveraging the power of its rich ecosystem to benefit customers, SAP announced a new step in its long-term cooperation with Microsoft. The two companies will collaborate on integrating SAP SuccessFactors solutions with Viva Learning and Copilot in Microsoft 365 and Azure OpenAI to access powerful language models that analyze and generate natural language. The integrations will provide new experiences designed to improve the way organizations attract, retain and upskill their employees.

An important step in sustainability

Fifty years ago, SAP revolutionized financial accounting with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Today, SAP is reinventing the “R” (Resource) in ERP by expanding the definition of resources to include carbon.

Amid rapidly changing regulatory requirements and increasing pressure from stakeholders to operate sustainably, organizations need an emissions accounting system that is as auditable, transparent and reliable as their financial data. With SAP's new Green Ledger (green cold wallet) solution, which moves companies from carbon forecasts to real data, companies can manage their green lines with clarity, accuracy and confidence, just like in the profit and loss account.

SAP has announced an update to SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, a single solution for calculating and managing emissions at the entire enterprise, value chain, and product level. SAP also introduced SAP Sustainability Data Exchange, a new solution for organizations to securely share standardized sustainability data with partners and suppliers so they can decarbonize their supply chains faster.

SAP's Green Ledger solution will also be included in RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP.

Portfolio, platform and ecosystem innovations increase customer resilience

SAP also announced a number of other innovations in its portfolio. For example, it announced SAP Business Network for Industry, taking advantage of the success of SAP Business Network, a comprehensive B4,5B collaboration platform with approximately $2 trillion in trade per year. This platform combines the benefits of networked supply chains with SAP's unmatched industry expertise to enable customers across consumer products, hi-tech, industrial manufacturing, and life sciences to rapidly increase supply chain resilience.

Innovations launched in the SAP Business Technology Platform significantly accelerate business process optimization and bring scalable enterprise automation. Advances in SAP Signavio mean customers get critical process insights in hours, not days. SAP Integration Suite updates bring together holistic processes across SAP and non-SAP systems on-premises and in the cloud. The new event integration capabilities in SAP Build, SAP's low-code solution, empower business professionals to trigger automations in all business processes.

As customers face increasingly fragmented data environments, SAP has developed its commitment to open data with Google Cloud that enhances their ability to create deep, actionable business insights. With this comprehensive open data solution, customers can use the SAP Datasphere solution together with Google's data cloud to create an end-to-end data cloud covering enterprise-wide data.

As the need for developers continues to grow with the accelerating pace of technological innovation, SAP has doubled its commitment to upskilling two million people worldwide by 2025. To continue to support customers' ongoing business transformation in the cloud, it has announced new programs to meet the growing demand for SAP experts across the ecosystem.
