In cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Museums Branch and Sencide Illumination Workshop, Yakin-Gilding Exhibition was held at Muradiye Qur'an and Manuscripts Museum.

Organized by the coordination of the Museum and Calligrapher Muhammed Mağ and Müzehhibe Elif Birkan, the exhibition features 12 works of 35 artists. Participating in the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Ali Mersin stated that illumination has played an important role in many cultures throughout history and said, “Gilding is a traditional art that has established a throne in the hearts of art lovers and combines fine craftsmanship and artistic expression with a magnificent harmony. The works of 12 artists with their works titled “İlmel yakîn, Aynel yakîn and Hakkel yakîn” will be brought together with the people of Bursa by the artists of Sencide Illumination Workshop under the supervision of their advisors, Müzehhip and Calligrapher Muhammed Mag. With this exhibition, the artists try to perform an art that lives today and is not dependent on tradition but is connected, rather than imitating traditional art. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the exhibition and hope that the event will reach its goal.” said.

Referring to the meaning and importance of the exhibition, Museum and Calligrapher Muhammed Mağ said, “We started our first illumination lessons in 2008 on the Irgandı Bridge. Our students continued their work with their efforts. Actually, I can say that we are here today with the exhibition of my grandchildren. I would like to thank our artist friends who contributed to the exhibition and our elders and guests who did not leave us alone on this special day.”

The works, which were created after a long work process and presented to art lovers with the opening of the exhibition, can be visited at the Muradiye Qur'an and Manuscripts Museum until 1 July.
