Ankara Metropolitan Municipality rushed to the aid of local producers whose greenhouses were damaged due to the flood caused by heavy rain in the capital on Friday, May 12. ANFA General Directorate, which has purchased the products of 3 producers in Çayyolu, will use these landscape plants in parks.

The problems caused by the infrastructure of the capital, which have been neglected for many years, were intervened with 889 vehicles and 1505 personnel. City floods also occurred in the Çayyolu region due to the instantaneous precipitation of 30,5 kilograms in some districts of Ankara.

GREENHOUSES FLOODED

ANFA General Directorate, which did not leave the producers damaged by the flood alone, first determined the damage to the tradesmen, and then supported them by taking the landscape plants in the hands of the producers.

Landscape plants purchased by ANFA General Directorate will be planted in parks in the Capital.

Okan Koç, one of the producers, stated that their financial losses were great and said, “Our greenhouses were flooded with the rains on 12 May. Our plants were flooded. Thanks to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, as always, they did not spare their help to us. He took our damaged plants to be planted in parks and gardens. He paid for our loss somehow. In all matters, the Metropolitan has always been beneficial to us. It was also beneficial in production, production revived in Ankara”, while another tradesman, Nazlı Sertkaya, said:

“All of our garden plants, landscape plants, ornamental plants, indoor and outdoor plant species were submerged under 1-1,5 meters of water. Our loss is huge, but thanks to our President Mansur Yavaş and the teams of our Metropolitan Municipality, they came to the event. Our grievance has been resolved.
