Muted is streaming on Netflix, and most people have already watched all six episodes of the first season. So naturally people want to know if there will be a second installment of the psychological thriller series. Silence (Muted), also known as El silencio, is a Spanish Netflix original series created by Aitor Gabilondo. It follows a young man named Sergio Ciscar, who is released from a juvenile detention center after serving a six-year sentence for murdering his parents. When he was imprisoned, he remained silent and did not mention why he killed his parents or anything about their murder. Although now a free man, he is secretly watched by a psychiatrist and his team as they work to uncover the truth.
Elite's Arón Piper stars as Sergio Ciscar. The rest of the talented cast includes Almudena Amor, Cristina Kovani, Manu Ríos, Aitor Luna, Ramiro Blas, Aria Bedmar and Mikel Losada.
Is the Silence season 2 on Netflix?
As of May 22, Netflix has not announced its plans for the thriller series. In other words, a Silence 2nd season is not being worked on because the series has not been renewed. But if you're wondering what the odds are of a second season, we'd say the chances are close to zero.
From where? The show has been tagged as a miniseries, which means it typically tells a self-contained story in one season. This usually means that there is no intention of continuing the story over multiple seasons. This seems to apply to Muted. While the first season has an ambiguous ending, it can still serve as a series conclusion. The main plot is complete, as are most of the subplots.
Now, we could probably see a Muted season 2 if the series performs well on Netflix. However, we believe that even if the series is going well, we will not see it return on the broadcaster. It looks like a one-off array type.
