After the Boztepe Observation Terrace and Walking Path, which are in great demand by the citizens, the 'The Happiest Village' project, which is among the vision projects of Ortahisar Municipality, is also coming to life.

The 'The Happiest Village' project, which was built by Ortahisar Municipality on an area of ​​11000 m² in Geçit Mahallesi, which belongs to the municipality, has come to an end.

Within the scope of the project, which consists of two stages in total, 3 greenhouses, 3 production workshops, 1 chicken-goose coop and 1 rehabilitation center were built, where individuals with special needs will benefit from the therapeutic benefits of nature and work with individuals without disabilities. After the first stage of the project is put into service, the construction of the second stage will begin. Within the scope of the 1nd phase, 2 cafeteria-restaurant and 1 production workshops will be built.

Making statements on the subject, Ortahisar Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç stated that in the agriculture and livestock workshops realized within the scope of the project, they created a new living space where disadvantaged individuals can work together with individuals without disabilities by taking advantage of the therapeutic effect of nature.

TO LEARN AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK

Stating that the project was implemented for the rehabilitation and employment of disadvantaged individuals, Genç said, “We are trying to perform a task to serve all segments of our society. Our disabled brothers and sisters constitute an important part of our society. In an area of ​​11000 square meters in total, we realized our project under the name of 'The Happiest Village' in order to meet our disabled brothers with nature, to produce something and to contribute to their happiness with what they produce. For the rehabilitation of our disabled brothers and sisters, we have built greenhouses that will bring them together with the soil, as well as greenhouses where they can learn about soilless production. On the other hand, we built handicraft workshops with chicken and goose coops.” said.

“CHOSEN FIRST AMONG PROJECTS IN ANKARA”

Expressing that the project was built with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, President Genç said, “We presented our project to our minister together with DOKA in previous years. With the co-financing model, our esteemed minister supported us with 8 million TL. I would also like to thank our Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, son of our city. Together with our municipality's financing of 3 million TL, we have cost 11 million. This project was chosen as the first among the projects going to Ankara. We were also happy with that. It is being completed quickly now.” he said.

Expressing that the main purpose of the project is to enable disadvantaged individuals to take part in production-oriented activities, Genç said, “A new living space has been created for our disabled brothers and sisters. Their families, of course, make a great sacrifice and put forth a great effort and effort for their offspring. It was a project that included elements such as cafes and restaurants where they could relax in nature. Our main goal is to ensure that our disabled brothers and sisters meet with nature, to contribute to their production, and in this way, to be a partner in their happiness.” he said.

Stating that the project includes all units that will enable individuals with special needs to work efficiently, President Genç said, “We aim to increase the participation of individuals with special needs in the workforce and their employment opportunities. Here, they will be able to find vocational training and rehabilitation opportunities by taking advantage of the therapeutic benefits of nature. We have established a facility where they can present their products to consumers at a high service standard. With our project, we want to show that disadvantaged individuals can be employed in every sector. And we want to prove that people with disabilities can earn income through agricultural production in their own areas by inheritance. Thus, we aim to contribute to increasing the employment of the disabled in all sectors and family business.” made statements.
