Cambodia's Prime Minister, Hun Sen, said in a statement the previous day that Cambodia has achieved tangible benefits by participating in the "Belt and Road" cooperation.
Mao Ning evaluated Hun Sen's statement at his regular press conference.
Pointing out that the Belt and Road initiative aims to realize common development by strengthening the connectivity between countries, Mao said, “As Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stated, the Belt and Road initiative does not approach any country with hostility, nor does it hinder the development of any country.” he said.
In the 10 years since the launch of the Belt and Road initiative, Mao stated that the mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries participating in the construction of the Belt and Road, especially Cambodia, has been continuously deepened, in line with the principles of joint consultation, joint construction and sharing, and that the Belt and Road is no longer positive. He stated that it has become a welcomed global public product and an international cooperation platform.
Mao informed that the Belt and Road initiative, in which three quarters of the world's countries have participated so far, has created 420 jobs in the countries concerned and has helped more and more countries accelerate their economic growth.
Expressing that they believe that furthering the quality Belt and Road joint construction will bring more opportunities to the common prosperity of various countries, Mao Ning emphasized that they will continue to accelerate the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of Belt and Road construction, fulfilling the important consensus between the leaders of China and Cambodia.
