China Announces It Will Segregate All Garbage In The Country By 2025

Spreading its sustainability efforts across the country, China announced that garbage separation systems will be installed in all cities by the end of this year. The goal of the country; to make garbage separation systems available in more than 90 percent of living spaces, especially in big cities, by the end of this year, and to increase the rate to 2025 percent by the end of 100.

Giving information on the subject, Development Minister Ni Hong said that the separation of garbage is one of the priorities of the ministry. Ni said that laws will be improved, domestic waste management platforms will be created through information technologies and waste incineration capacity will be strengthened. Currently, garbage separation systems are operating in 297 cities in the country, and 82,5 percent of the people living in these cities have their garbage separated.

Stating that the country's daily waste disposal capacity has reached 530 thousand tons, Ni informed that 77,6 percent of this was achieved by incineration. Meanwhile, China will hold a garbage separation-themed promotional week in the fourth week of May every year from this year. This year's event is held between May 22-28.
