In this context, the Metropolitan Municipality, which supported the Joint Venture of TOMTAŞ Aviation and Technology Inc., which will be established with the partnership of ASFAT, TUSAŞ, TOMTAŞ Investment and Erciyes Teknopark, which was realized with the signatures signed in January 2023, with the decision taken in the assembly, is now presenting the historical success of Kayseri in this field to the citizens. introduces.

The Metropolitan Municipality, the 2nd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate and the Garrison Command in cooperation with the private area established in Cumhuriyet Square, one of the largest squares in Turkey, is known as “PZL”, which is produced in Kayseri Aircraft Factory, whose foundations were laid on October 5, 1925. began to exhibit its first P-24A aircraft.

The first aircraft P-24A, known as “PZL”, exhibited by the Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to introduce the historical success of Kayseri in this field and the active role it will play in the field of aviation from now on, was launched on May 29, 1937, under the direction of First Lieutenant İrfan Bey, on Ali Mountain. It had taken off from its skirts.

FEATURES OF PZL

The aircraft was produced in 7.40 at the Kayseri Airplane Factory (KTF), with a wingspan of 10.58 meters, a wingspan of 2.85 meters and a height of 1939 meters, under a Polish license. The single-seat aircraft served as a single-engine (Gnome-Rhone), single-engine (Gnome-Rhone), propeller and overhead monoplane "Hunting" aircraft that could operate in daytime conditions.

The Turkish Flag motif with a white star and crescent on a red background on the Rudder part of the aircraft, which has 3 machine gun slots, draws attention. In addition, there are square-shaped nationality markings in red and white colors on the upper and lower parts of the wings of the aircraft.

The Joint Venture Agreement of TOMTAŞ Aerospace and Technology Inc., which will be established on December 22, 2022 with the support of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, with the partnership of ASFAT, TUSAŞ, TOMTAŞ Investment and Erciyes Technopark, was signed with a ceremony attended by Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar.

The Zoning and Public Works Commission Report, which was prepared on the request of Erciyes Teknopark A.Ş. to make an additional zoning plan together with the zoning plan amendment in the Kocasinan District, Fevzioğlu District, was accepted by the council members.
