Ankara - Sivas High Speed Train, which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that it will be free until the end of May, continues to host its passengers.
As TCDD Tasimacilik, we asked the passengers traveling on the Ankara - Sivas High Speed Train and the people of Sivas about the high speed train and its contribution to our city of Sivas.
Stating that the high-speed train is their first choice because it is comfortable and saves time, Arzu Eraslan: “I have used the high-speed train before, I am very satisfied. I went to Istanbul and Eskişehir. I also took the conventional train. My mother lives in Balıkesir. I also prefer the train to visit it. I also have an older sister in Istanbul, if we don't go by private car, I prefer the high-speed train. Not the bus. I'm planning to go to Iğdır, because I have a phobia of airplanes, I will prefer to go by high-speed train. I will save time by going to Sivas by high-speed train and going to Iğdır by bus from there.” said.

Zehra Aslan said, “Teacher, I live in Ankara, I will travel to Sivas for touristic purposes. I am going to Sivas for the first time. The high-speed train was instrumental in this. I have not had the opportunity to see Sivas before. God bless those who brought this project to life. We are really happy. I always use the high-speed train on Istanbul and Eskişehir routes. It rarely happens on the plane according to my workload, but the train is enjoyable. We are also very comfortable," he said.

Stating that it is possible to go from Ankara to Sivas in a shorter time than we spend going from one place to another in the city, Başkent University Turkish Language Teaching Senior Student İlayda Güler said, “I use the high-speed train to go to Eskişehir. It is an excellent thing that the 7 and a half hours by bus from Ankara to Sivas has decreased to 2 and a half hours. I live in Eryaman. It takes about 2 and a half hours to go to Bahçelievler by bus. Going to Bahçelievler by bus is the same as coming to Sivas. I am going to Sivas for the first time. My fiance is going to visit him in the military. The high-speed train has been very good for us, Sivas used to be far away, now it is very close.”

İbrahim Kaval, who works at Sivas Station Taxi Stop: “I have approached 30 years in this profession. We do the same profession by passing it on from father to son. Currently, a high-speed train has arrived in Sivas, and the train has contributed to Sivas. It will contribute even more in the coming days. Taxi drivers, restaurateurs and shopkeepers benefit. Besides, when you have a job in Ankara, you can go in 2 hours, get your work done and return in the same time, so you can get your work done in one day.”

Geography Teacher Mehmet Özcan, who stated that he was happy to go to Sivas with his children on his day off, said: “I have been teaching in the center of Yozgat for 20 years. I used the high-speed train a lot between Ankara and Istanbul before. I know that high-speed train is very common in developed countries. In the past, there were many accidents in our country due to road-based transportation. It is very nice that the high-speed train, which is the most reliable means of transportation, has developed in our country. I wish it was made 50 years ago. Although I have worked in Yozgat for 20 years, I have never been to Sivas. We used to drive through the ring road all the time. But we came with my children by high-speed train, we saw historical places, we ate delicious food. I hope we will come again, we will go from Yozgat to Ankara more easily to cities where there is a high-speed train.”
