Bursa 4th Administrative Court has annulled the decision regarding the operation of the marina part of the Güzelyalı Yacht Harbor and Fisherman's Shelter, which was temporarily transferred to the Metropolitan Municipality in 2020 by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, by BURULAŞ.
When it was decided that the marina part of the Güzelyalı Yacht Harbor and Fisherman's Shelter would be operated by BURULAŞ with the decision of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council, Mudanya Municipality took the decision to the court on the grounds that it was unlawful.
The court ruled that, in accordance with the relevant legislation, “The Metropolitan Municipality can operate excavation sites, public transportation services, social facilities, buffet, parking lot and tea gardens, but cannot transfer the marina management to BURULAŞ with a parliamentary decision without being subject to the State Tender Law”.
Evaluating the decision, Mudanya Mayor Hayri Türkyılmaz said, “Since the day we took office, we have gone to the end of the process in every case where we have been right, and finally we have achieved our gains. We have always protected the assets of the Mudanians, and we will continue to defend the rights of my compatriots to the end.”
