The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the China-Central Asia Summit, which will be held in Xi'an, China on May 18-19, will guide the cooperation between the two sides in the new period.

China Ministry of Foreign Affairs SözcüSU Wang Wenbin gave information about the summit at the press conference held in Beijing today.

According to the information given by Wang, the heads of states of 5 Central Asian countries will attend the summit, which will be chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping. While the summit is the first important diplomacy event to be hosted by China since the beginning of the year, it is the first summit to be held with physical participation between China and 31 Central Asian countries in 5 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Therefore, it is a milestone in the history of China-Central Asian relations.

Wang Wenbin said:

“During the summit, President Xi Jinping will make an important speech, and the leaders attending the summit will evaluate the history of the development of China-Central Asia relations, and exchange views on China-Central Asia mechanism building, cooperation in various fields, and important global and regional issues of common interest. The leaders will also sign relevant political documents. Thanks to the joint efforts of all parties involved, the summit will shape the China-Central Asia cooperation, and thus determine the new horizons of cooperation in the new period.”
