Accordingly, red meat production, which was 2021 million 1 thousand 952 tons in 38, was estimated to be 2022 million 12,3 thousand 2 tons in 191 with an increase of 625%. In this context, beef production increased by 7,7% compared to the previous year to 1 million 572 thousand 747 tons, sheep meat production increased by 26,8% to 489 thousand 354 tons, goat meat production increased by 22,6% to 115 thousand 938 tons, buffalo meat production on the other hand, increased by 25,4% and became 13 thousand 586 tons.
When the red meat production estimates for the last ten years are examined, it is seen that the total red meat production was 2013 million 1 thousand 99 tons in 81, reaching 2022 million 2 thousand 191 tons in 625.
In 2022, 71,8% of red meat production was beef, 22,3% mutton, 5,3% goat meat and 0,6% buffalo meat.
