The 3rd Belt and Road Energy Cooperation Partnership Relationship Forum concluded today in Xiamen. According to the information obtained from the forum, rich results have been obtained in the energy cooperation between China and the countries on the Belt and Road route in the last 10 years.

In the last 10 years, political contacts have been constantly deepened. China has established an intergovernmental energy cooperation mechanism with more than 90 countries, regions and international organizations. The number of member countries in the energy cooperation partnership relationship within the scope of the Belt and Road, which was established upon the call of China, has increased to 33. Five regional energy cooperation platforms were established, namely the China-Arab Union, the China-Africa Union, China-ASEAN, China-Central and Eastern Europe, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization Sustainable Energy Center.

A number of energy infrastructure facilities have been built in the last 10 years. Cross-border pipelines, primarily the China-Central Asia gas pipelines, the China-Myanmar crude oil and natural gas pipelines, were put into service. 5 oil and natural gas cooperation regions were established, including Central Asia-Russia, Middle East, Africa, America and Asia Pacific. Electricity connectivity projects were implemented between China and 7 countries such as Russia and Mongolia.

Trade cooperation in the clean energy industry has advanced over the past 10 years. As the world's largest clean energy market and hardware manufacturing country, China's global contribution to solar and wind capacity reached 70 percent and 60 percent, respectively. Cooperation in green energy project has been established between China and more than 100 countries and regions. Investments in green and low-carbon energy in countries participating in Belt and Road construction have outstripped investments in traditional resources.

In the last 10 years, financing channels have been continuously expanded. The Silk Road Fund focused on investments in oil, natural gas, electricity and new energy projects within the framework of the Belt and Road energy cooperation. There are 6 energy investment projects with an investment amount of approximately 800 billion 25 million USD committed so far. The energy cooperation on the Belt and Road route has created approximately 10 million new jobs in the relevant regions.
